Audivor 'TERRASTRATE': A Cinematic Hybrid Kontakt Instrument that offers a Rich Blend of Hybrid Organic Sounds combined with Advanced Granular Synthesis

Audivor, the brand-new American software instrument developer, has recently announced the release of its debut product 'TERRASTRATE' — An innovative cinematic software instrument designed for Native Instruments Kontakt. This product stands out in the realm of sound libraries by offering a rich blend of hybrid organic sounds combined with advanced granular synthesis. This allows composers and sound designers to explore new dimensions of audio manipulation and creation. TERRASTRATE is built to inspire and support artists in crafting dynamic soundtracks and immersive audio environments. It integrates seamlessly into any setup, enhancing the creative workflow with its unique capabilities. The company says "TERRASTRATE is not just a granular synth instrument. It’s a gateway to uncharted sonic territories." TERRASTRATE is compatible with Kontakt, as well as the free Kontakt Player.

TERRASTRATE distinguishes itself in the realm of cinematic software instruments through its versatile sound engine and intuitive user interface. Combining the functionalities of a sampler, granular synthesizer, and pulse engine, it offers limitless creative possibilities for music production. TERRASTRATE comes equipped with a rich array of sounds designed to push the boundaries of cinematic sound design. The library features categories such as Synth Pads, Organic Pads, Complex Textures, Soundscapes, and more, each crafted to provide versatility and innovation. Particularly unique are the sweeps, bends, and signature gestures, which allow for groundbreaking manipulation of organic sounds, creating textures and movements that have never been heard before.

TERRASTRATE utilizes granular synthesis by breaking audio into small grains, which can be intricately manipulated for dynamic sound design. The mod wheel can dynamically control gestures, bends, and textures, making performances expressive. The bounds of granular can be stretched to allow for the tempo-syncing of grain playback or "density", duration or "size", and grain fade-ins/outs, transforming TERRASTRATE into a versatile pulse maker. In addition, multiple modulators expand the possibilities of sound design and manipulation, and the intuitive UI allows for easy, fast tweaks. In the end, TERRASTRATE extends beyond traditional granular synthesis, offering the ability to craft lush pads, complex textures and rhythmic patterns with unparalleled freedom.

TERRASTRATE comes with 375+ snapshots, which are organized into 11 categories, and over 499 pre-recorded sound sources, organized and labeled with the 2 prefixes. There are 15 modulatable parameters, 4 user controlled modulators, and 5 programmable modulators, which you can assign using knob controls or the modulation matrix. You can also drag and drop any audio wave file into the waveform sections. TERRASTRATE will automatically read the file’s pitch. TERRASTRATE is equipped with extensive sound design tools across four specialized pages: Performance, Sample/Gain, Mod/Matrix, and FX Controls. The Performance Page (as shown above photo) features the performance controller controlled by your mouse or mod wheel. On this page, you access sounds and basic controls for the A (left) and B (right) side, including volume, attack length, and release length.

The Sample/Grain Page allows detailed manipulation of samples and grains for nuanced textural control. This page contains a set of identical controls for the A (left) and B (right) sides. In the window, the Sample section is above, and the Grain section is below. There are three playback modes for each side of the instrument. Granular poly is great for pads and drones, granular mono tends to work well for pulses, and we have a regular sample playback mode as well.

The Mod/Matrix Page provides a robust modulation matrix and multiple modulators for dynamic parameter automation. The Matrix displays the parameters on the left, a slider to control positive and negative depth, and a selector for 5 automated and 4 user controlled modulators on the right. The Modulator section contains the sequencer, LFO, and random modulators. These modulators have built-in presets but you can also draw your own shapes in.

The FX Controls Page offers comprehensive, selectable effects in a fixed signal chain, including delays and reverbs, to refine and enhance the sonic characteristics of your creations. The FX slots each have a series of options for effect type, delay type, and reverb convolution. The FX knob in the Dashboard controls the relative depth of each effect. The delay control offers comprehensive controls for three modeled delay types. The reverb knob in the Dashboard controls the wet mix. You can control and select between 10 reverb convolutions.
