*Expansion Setting:
Eapansion Ratio: Between 2:1 and 8:1

Attack Time: Moderately fast

Release Time: Moderate

Threshold level: 2 dB to 20 dB below peak

 

 

- Use on its own or following a compressed signal

- An expander is a great tool for reducing tape hiss and other noise

- Useful when something rings on too long and muddies a mix

- Expansion also can be used to restore life to a track recorded with too much compression
