*Compression Setting:
Compression Ratio: Between 5:1 and 10:1

Attack Time: Very fast

Release Time: Moderate

Threshold level: 6 dB to 20 dB below peak

 

 

- The effect for soft-voiced Michael Jackson types

- creates whispery, in-your-face vocals

- Best with minimal reverb

- Compression is so intense that lip-smacking and other background noises seem accentuated

- A "Pop" filter is necessary on the mic and a noise gate may have to follow the compressor
